Former WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio appeared at the AAA TripleMania XXII pay-per-view on Sunday night during the opening segment.

Working under the name “El Patron,” Del Rio made his way down to the ring with his father, Dos Caras Sr.

He then proceeded to call WWE racist, saying that while he may no longer work for the company, at least he still has his pride and dignity.

Del Rio was referring to the terms of his release and the incident surrounding it. On Aug. 7, Del Rio was let go by World Wrestling Entertainment after slapping social media worker Cody Barbierri for an insensitive comment he made about Mexican people.

Konnan and the heel group Los Perros Del Mal then confronted Del Rio before being disposed of by the former WWE Champion.

Editor’s Note

Calling his [Del Rio] former employers racist will certainly burn a lot of bridges and prevent an immediate return down the road. I don’t necessarily agree with the reasoning behind why he was let go, but two wrongs don’t make a right.
