The first “Monday Night Raw” after the 2014 “Night of Champions” pay-per-view occurred on Sept. 22. Despite the fallout from one of WWE’s most important pay-per-view events of the year, viewership for “Monday Night Raw” did not increase by much. According to TVByTheNumbers.com, the Sept. 22 showing of “Monday Night Raw” averaged 3.879 million viewers, slightly up from the past week’s viewership number of 3.826 million.
Below is the hourly breakdown in terms of viewership for the Sept. 22 edition of “Monday Night Raw:”
Hour 1: 4.00 million viewers
Hour 2: 3.79 million viewers
Hour 3: 3.847 million viewers
Unlike last week, one of the three hours garnered four million viewers, the first hour. The second hour, which was the most viewed hour last week due to WWE’s “halftime” stunt, was the least-viewed hour this time around. In a bit of good news for WWE, the third hour did not tank in viewership, unlike past weeks.
“Monday Night Raw” would be the second best cable program for the night, in terms of viewership, only being bested by ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.” For the first time in a couple of months, WWE bested VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” “Monday Night Raw” obtained a 1.4 rating for adults aged 18-49.
Editor’s Note
Not much changed, except the hour breakdowns. It’s a good sign that the third hour didn’t tank, but viewership will likely stay below four million through the fall.
