On Tuesday, April 14, WWE taped the April 16 edition of “Smackdown” in London, England at The O2 Arena, the same location for the April 13 “Monday Night Raw.” Within the show, WWE announced two matches for “Extreme Rules.” As previously noted, Dolph Ziggler will go one-on-one with Sheamus in what will reportedly be a “Kiss My Arse” match.
Additionally, coming out of “Smackdown,” it was revealed that Roman Reigns will battle Big Show in a Last Man Standing match. The match was presumably announced during an in-ring segment between the two, where Big Show cut a promo on Reigns about what transpired at “Raw.” There, Show delivered a chokeslam to Reigns on top of a London taxi, located near the titantron.
The two behemoths are coming off of impressive performances at WrestleMania 31. Big Show won the second Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal during the WrestleMania Kickoff. Reigns, on the other hand, starred in the show’s main event against then WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Reigns went toe-to-toe with Lesnar, not backing down from “The Beast Incarnate.” Just when Reigns was starting to hold his own, Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank Briefcase, going on to win WWE’s highest title.
Editor’s Note
I’m sure the Rosemont, Illinois crowd at Allstate Arena will eat this match up.
