On October 9, 2013, WWE superstar John Cena appeared on the Highly Questionable podcast that is featured on ESPN2. The podcast features ESPN talents Dan Le Betard, his father, and Bomani Jones. During the interview, Cena discussed his match with The Rock at WrestleMania 28, how he broke into the sports entertainment business, his time as a limousine driver, and more.

During the interview, Cena was asked about what his biggest shame in the wrestling business. His response called his first WrestleMania match with The Rock the biggest shame in his career. Cena stated that his talk of how proud he was about it and how important the match was beforehand, left him disappointed that he did not get the job done at the end of the day.

After his response, Cena was asked about why he felt shame since he knew that he would be taking the loss that night. Cena responded by saying the following:

“There is a giant underlying story that you may or may not know to that, and I would have really liked to have been on top that night.”

Cena didn’t add many details, but went on to say it was “a bit of a disappointment.” Towards the end of his discussion of the match, Cena said that the dram was an interesting story, and one that hopefully one day people will be able to hear about.
