Variety.com has published an exclusive piece on one of John Cena’s latest ventures outside of WWE and the squared circle. The 12-year WWE veteran will be teaming up with Lettfield Pictures, the producers of hit show “Pawn Stars” and many others, to develop an unscripted reality series. According to the website, the show will revolve around unknown individuals from all walks of life who have compelling stories to share with the world.
Cena spoke to Variety about the project, not biting to reveal any of the concepts surrounding the series:
“For someone like me that’s surrounded by so many interesting characters, you know when you brush up against someone who can hold a room. There are so many people out there who can hold someone’s attention.”
“There’s a lot more opportunity in reality [and chances] to package lives the way they already are.”
“We have a few [ideas] already in the pipeline, a few irons in the fire.”
While the concepts aren’t known quite yet, some of the project may involve Cena in an on-screen role. Though, Cena being featured on the actual program is not essential in getting the series off the ground. Cena’s work with Lettfield Pictures would be outside of his contractual obligations to WWE. However, WWE does have the option to get involved in the project, if it has the creative itch to do so.

Editor’s Note
Intriguing. I wonder how “unscripted” this series will really be, because “Pawn Stars” and all of its spinoffs are anything but unscripted.
