On Thursday Feb. 27, both TNA and WWE had content airing at the same time during the nine o’clock hour on the East Coast. WWE aired “NXT Arrival” live on the WWE Network, while another edition of “Impact Wrestling” aired on Spike TV. In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, in-depth ratings for “Impact Wrestling” are provided. TNA’s show scored a 0.95 cable rating, averaging 1,006,000 viewers.
The first hour ratings for “Impact Wrestling” were not severely affected by “NXT Arrival,” but still impacted as its first hour rating was 1.12, down from its usual first hour ratings of 1.4. While it’s likely “NXT Arrival” had something to do with this, ratings did not increase after “NXT Arrival” was off the air at 10 p.m. EST.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that there is usually a drop in ratings going into the 10 o’clock hour for “Impact Wrestling,” but it was much more severe on Feb. 27. Its quarter-rating at 10:15 p.m. EST was a 0.83, the lowest such rating for the company in quite some time.
