On the first showing of “Monday Night Raw” after “SummerSlam,” Dean Ambrose faced Seth Rollins in a “SummerSlam” rematch in the main event. The bout was a Falls Count Anywhere match. In the end, Rollins would win after Ambrose was no longer able to compete in the match. With assistance from Kane, Seth Rollins curb stomped Dean Ambrose through cinder blocks, ending Ambrose’s night.
Following “Raw,” WWE.com issued a storyline update on Dean Ambrose. The company’s website reports that despite receiving assumed extensive trauma to his head and spine, Dean Ambrose refused medical treatment from WWE medical personnel. Even further, Ambrose escaped the medical team, and is now deemed “missing.”
WWE Dr. Chris Amann spoke to the website about the matter, noting that due to Ambrose’s “escape,” the medical team was not able to determine Ambrose’s exact injuries.
Amann went on to speak about how Ambrose was able to escape:
“As you saw during the match with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, toward the end of the match, Dean had sustained what we thought was pretty significant head and cervical spine trauma, so as a precaution we immobilized his neck, placed him on a stretcher and removed him from the ring area and brought him backstage.”
“At the time of bringing him backstage, he was responsive and was refusing transport to a local medical facility for further evaluation. He had removed the straps and surgical collar, said he refused to go and we haven’t seen him since.”
As we previously reported, Dean Ambrose is set to star in WWE Studios’ “Lockdown.” Due to his involvement in the film, Ambrose was expected to miss television time during the build to “Night of Champions,” as production starts in late August. Now that Ambrose is “missing,” it is evident that he was written off television for the time being.
Editor’s Note
Sucks that Ambrose will not be on television, but that was a tremendous way to close “Monday Night Raw.”
