Over the past couple of weeks, any chance that CM Punk would return to WWE prior to WrestleMania XXX has all but vanished. He did not appear on the March 3 edition of “Monday Night Raw” in his hometown in Chicago, Ill. and WWE made its first acknowledgement of the situation, having his former manager Paul Heyman cut a worked-shoot promo on Punk. It appears that Punk will break his silence on the matter as he will appear on “Talking Dead” on March 16.For his appearance, Punk has been billed by his real name, “Phil Brooks,” making it more evident he is no longer working for WWE.
The whole situation has also sparked chatter that Punk would join MMA, possibly for UFC. On the same night he was announced to appear on “Talking Dead,” a fake Twitter account was made by a fan, claiming to be MMA fighter Phil Brooks. However, the fan’s attempt to troll the Internet was futile.
In regards to Punk possibly transitioning to MMA, possibly UFC, its President, Dana White, recently commented about the possibility. In an interview with Chad Dukes and Lavar Arrington on CBS Radio DC 106.7, White was asked about the everlasting rumors of Punk starting a MMA career.
White stated that he and Punk never talked about such a business venture:
“We have literally never talked about business. I like him. He’s a fan. I’ve heard rumors out there, and he and I have been around each other and been together, he has never ever, I’ve never talked to him about wrestling and he’s never talked to me about fighting. I have no idea.”
However, when asked if he would be open to signing Punk, White said the following:
“I mean, yeah. I guess if he wanted to fight, I’d talk to him about it.”

In related CM Punk UFC news, UFC fighter and close friend of Punk, Chael Sonnen, recently appeared on TSN’s “Off the Record.” On the program, he talked about Punk’s WWE status and revealed Stephanie McMahon’s phone number.
