On Tuesday, May 5, prior to taping the May 7 edition of “Smackdown,” WWE taped the week’s showing of “Main Event,” which currently airs overseas and only on Hulu in the United States. The show, which emanated from Ottawa, the capital of Canada, featured Damien Sandow. The fan favorite, who did not appear on the May 4 showing of “Monday Night Raw,” showcased his latest gimmick.

Sandow interrupted an AxelMania promo from Curtis Axel, appearing as “Macho Mandow.” Macho Mandow received his own titantron, and dressed in signature “Macho Man” garb, containing the late great “Macho Man” Randy Savage’s patented trunks, hat, and sunglasses.

Sandow and Axel would go on to face each other in singles competition. Though, the match did not end favorably for either star. The duo would get ambushed by The Ascension, Konnor and Viktor, who stood tall over the two fan favorites.

Below are some fan photos from the debut of Macho Mandow on “Main Event:”

Editor’s Note

I’m sure Sandow killed it once again, as those in attendance had nothing but good things to say. Still, I wish WWE would let Sandow be himself again, not utilizing a lot of various gimmicks. On the other side, there is a chance we get a new “Mega Powers” tag team consisting of Curtis Axel and Damien Sandow out of this.
