The 2014 “Hell in a Cell” pay-per-view occurred on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The main event of the evening would see the second match contested inside the Hell in a Cell structure, a singles match between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, occur.
The latter of the double main event matches would mark the return of one of WWE’s most unique and cryptic characters of all-time, Bray Wyatt. During the late stages of the match, the lights went out, and Bray Wyatt’s signature lantern was lit in the ring. The lantern illuminated a hologram, while foreign words from The Wyatt Family’s past vignettes echoed throughout the arena.
The man himself, Bray Wyatt, would then enter the picture and attack Dean Ambrose. Wyatt’s attack on Ambrose helped a bruised and battered Seth Rollins crawl towards his nemesis to pickup the victory via pinfall. After the match, Wyatt delivered a “Sister Abigail” to Ambrose, closing the show standing tall.
Despite Wyatt’s past vignettes featuring Erick Rowan and Luke Harper, Wyatt was alone. What transpired to close “Hell in a Cell” echoed previous reports from that very day, regarding Ambrose being the person Wyatt would return to feud with.
Editor’s Note
What an amazing end to a tremendous pay-per-view. This feud will be fantastic. I still wonder what Erick Rowan and Luke Harper are going to do now.
