Backstage Plans on Match for Rusev At "Money in the Bank"

Despite having a role at the 2014 “Royal Rumble,” in the 30-man Royal Rumble match, Rusev had not been prominent on WWE programming until the transition from WrestleMania XXX to “Extreme Rules.” At that event, Rusev took down R-Truth and Xavier Woods in a handicap match.

Afterwards, alongside Lana, Rusev made an impact with his pro-Russian ways, at one point targeting WWE Hall of Famer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan. Though, former Intercontinental Champion Big E saved the patriotic legend, kick-starting a feud with Rusev, which would culminate at “Payback.” There, Rusev defeated Big E with “The Accolade.”

Following “Payback,” on the June 2 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Rusev was honored at a Hero of the Russian Federation Ceremony. Though, during the show, no hints were made as to who Rusev’s next opponent would be. Now, F4WOnline has reported on a match being discussed for Rusev at “Money in the Bank.”

The website reported that Rusev vs. Mark Henry has been discussed for “Money in the Bank.” Henry recently appeared during the May 20 edition of “Main Event, in a competition between him and Cesaro to determine “The World’s Strongest Athlete.” In the end, Cesaro was deemed the title by his manager Paul Heyman.

Despite remaining prevalent on its programming, Henry’s last appearance at a WWE pay-per-view was at WrestleMania XXX, in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
