“Macho Man” Randy Savage had a strong fallout with Vince McMahon after leaving WWE in the middle of the 1990s. For more than a decade, rumors have run rampant that Savage and Vince’s daughter and current head of WWE Creative Stephanie McMahon were involved in an inappropriate relationship when she was 17. According to a new report, these rumors may be publicly acknowledged for the first time.

Sources tell Wrestlingnews.co WWE is planning to address the Stephanie/Savage rumor for the first and only time in a brand new documentary on the life and times of the “Macho Man.” Word is that Vince had not heard of the rumor until long after Savage left the company, leading many to believe that it had no life.

The report notes other reasons as to why Savage may have left the company, as per his brother Lanny.

“The story he gave was that some of the bitterness Randy had towards Vince started in 1987 when the company held a legends battle royal on a house show and Vince opted not to use Angelo Poffo (Randy and Lanny’s father) on the card. Randy, according to Lanny, never forgot that and held on to some resentment since then. There was also some resentment from Randy because he was being used as an announcer/old timer towards the end of his run with the company and Randy felt that he had a lot more in his tank as an active performer.”

It was around 2002 or so, when Savage released a video on his website publicly bashing Stephanie and her now husband Paul Levesque (Triple H) that the rumors began to pick up steam. Few wrestling personalities have ever commented on it, so the DVD would be one of the first and only recognitions of it, should it be true.

The entire report can be found here.

Editor’s Note

I’m taking this with a grain of salt, unless it’s a flat-out denial from WWE’s part. We’ll see if this actually happens.
