Five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce, who has sporadically done work for WWE in the past couple of years, has finally signed a deal with the company. According to PWInsider, WWE and Pearce came to an agreement on a deal which will see Pearce work full-time as a coach and producer, likely within its developmental NXT promotion. He will be working in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center.
Back in January, it appeared that Pearce and WWE were close to agreeing on terms for a contract. However, Pearce was simply continuing his sporadic work for the company. The month prior, Pearce worked as a producer for the live “NXT Takeover: R Evolution” show on Dec. 11. Around that same time in 2013, the first week of December, Pearce put in work as a guest coach and trainer for WWE.
Since retiring from professional wrestling on Dec. 21, 2014, it was only a matter of time until Adam Pearce joined WWE on a full-time basis. With news of the deal getting out just prior to the May 20 “NXT Takeover: Unstoppable” event, it will be interesting to see if Pearce is featured on the show in some sort of on-air capacity.

Awesome acquisition by WWE, which will certainly boost an already stacked developmental system.
