Apparently Shaquille O’Neal wasn’t the only big star that WWE tried to bring in for WrestleMania 33.

According to a report by Cageside Seats, WWE, to the surprise of no one, tried to get UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor for the show, but, for an unknown reason, the Notorious One wasn’t interested in being a part of the show.

Following his fight with Eddie Alvarez back at UFC 205, which Triple H attended, WWE made it clear to the public that they were interested in doing business with Conor McGregor. But, they clearly weren’t able to come to terms before this year’s big event.

Even though he’s not going to be a part of this year’s WrestleMania, Conor McGregor has said that he’s keeping all of his options open, and that he’d be willing to do something with WWE if they offered him the right deal. For now though, the UFC champ is probably focused on trying to make the rumored fight with Floyd Mayweather happen.
