Apparently, WWE originally thought that they should not only change Charlotte’s brand, but they also thought that, because she was moving from Raw to SmackDown, it’d be a great time for a character change as well. But, according to Cageside Seats, they’re now regretting turning her babyface.

So, why do are they regretting her turn? Well, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the feeling is that it was way too early for her to turn.

“It’s funny because when they turned [Charlotte] babyface, there was a lot of opposition to turning her babyface,” said Meltzer on Thursday’s Wrestling Observer Radio. “A lot of people felt that it wasn’t the right time, and it wasn’t the right time. I don’t wanna say it was a dumb move, but it was the wrong move, and I think the mentality was, balance the sides. But now it seems like they’re back to the idea of Charlotte vs. Naomi.”
