When WWE decided to finally call Samoa Joe up to the main roster following the Royal Rumble, their original plan was for him to work with Seth Rollins at the Fastlane show on March 5. Unfortunately though, Rollins suffered a knee injury during an in-ring segment with Joe, and, as a result, Joe vs. Seth won’t happen at Fastlane.
However, we will still get to see Joe compete on the March 5 show, where he’ll be in the ring with Sami Zayn, and with the two top matches on the show — Bill Goldberg vs. Kevin Owens and Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns — expected to last less than 10 minutes, Joe and Zayn will be put in a position to steal the show.
Zayn was originally supposed to have a United States Championship match against Chris Jericho on the show, but, as previously mentioned, the Rollins injury changed everything.
If you want a preview of what’s to come at Fastlane, watch the video at the top of this article, and you’ll see that Joe and Zayn will likely have the best match of the night on March 5.
