Unless something changes, current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will not defend his title at the upcoming Payback show. However, it doesn’t look like he’ll be out of action until SummerSlam, which is typically the case for The Beast following WrestleMania.

According to Cageside Seats, Brock Lesnar will appear on more pay-per-view cards this year than he has since he returned to WWE back in 2012. As of right now, the plan is for Lesnar to hold the Universal Championship until next year’s WrestleMania, which is why WWE wants him to work more dates than usual.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that Lesnar’s first title defense will be against Braun Strowman, which was teased on the Raw following WrestleMania.
