Kenny Omega’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling will come to an end on January 31, and if he doesn’t re-sign with NJPW, he’ll definitely be the hottest free agent in all of professional wrestling.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Omega spoke about possibly going to WWE, and a potential match with John Cena. He seemed to have interest, but, as of right now, he’s not willing to commit to anything.
On Friday, ESPN published an interview with WWE’s chief operating officer Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, and they asked him if he’s interested in signing the NJPW star. He said the following:
“As far as a Kenny Omega goes, I’m just interested in talent, period. If somebody is talented as a performer and they wanna come work for the WWE, if they wanna come to the largest platform in the world where they can truly show what they do off on a global basis, then WWE is the choice for them. If they wanna come work for us and they’re very talented, then I’m interested in talking to them, and that’s across the board.
“To me, anytime anybody questions me on a talent — Am I interested in them? — the fact that you’re questioning me on them means that person is probably pretty talented, so, yes, I’m interested.”

As previously mentioned, Omega’s deal with New Japan doesn’t expire until January 31, so he won’t be able to appear in the Royal Rumble on January 29 if he does decide to sign with WWE.
