The Rock has appeared at every WrestleMania show since he returned to WWE back in 2011, with the exception of this year’s show in Orlando.

WWE never said that The Rock was going to be at WrestleMania 33 prior to the event, and many believed that he reason why is because they wanted his return to be a surprise. But, as it turns out, they didn’t advertise him for the show simply because he wasn’t going to be there.

During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, which you can watch in its entirety below, The Rock explained why he didn’t attend this year’s show.

“No, I didn’t get a chance to go. I was shooting at that time. We were just wrapping up Ballers in LA, so I didn’t get a chance to make it.”

Why The Rock Wasn't at WrestleMania 33, Creating Jokes for Baywatch

Prior to the event, there was a rumor going around which suggested that The Rock and Vince McMahon were butting heads over what The Great One’s role should be on the show. So we do know that, at the very least, the two sides were talking about a possible appearance at the show.

Do you think we’ll see The Rock at next year’s show in New Orleans? What do you think his role will be on the show? Let us know in the comments below, or over on Facebook!
