Mick Foley’s injury history is pretty well-known. If you watch the man walk, it’s pretty easy to tell that he’s in a lot of pain. But, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Raw General Manager is in more pain now than ever, and because of that, he’s scheduled to get hip replacement surgery towards the end of this year.
On Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer detailed Foley’s next couple of weeks, saying that we probably won’t see the Raw GM on television a whole lot over the next month or so.
“There were a lot of changes at the last minute, and they called Foley back in when he was supposed to have the weekend off. He’s actually supposed to be at TV now, even though this was supposed to be his week off. The deal with Mick is that he’s in tremendous pain, even [after] dropping all this weight, just from all those ring injuries. It was bound to catch up, and he’s 51 now, so it’s catching up. He needs hip replacement surgery, which he’s going to get relatively soon.”

Foley did appear on Monday’s Raw, so it would seem that his time off will begin after this week. Obviously hip surgery is a big deal, so who really knows when we’ll see the Hardcore Legend back on WWE television.
