This past Tuesday’s SmackDown took place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which is the hometown of the headliner for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, Kurt Angle. Prior to the show, there was some speculation surrounding our Olympic Hero, as fans were thinking/hoping that he would, at the very least, appear in front of the live crowd. But, he didn’t.
According to Cageside Seats, Angle was at the PPG Paints Arena on Tuesday, but WWE was never planning on having him appear on-camera, or in front of the live crowd. Instead, he was there to film some stuff for WWE 24, which is a documentary series on the WWE Network.
Angle will probably have a significant role on WWE television following WrestleMania 33, as it looks like he’ll end up replacing Mick Foley as the general manager of Monday Night Raw. So, get ready to see our Olympic Hero on a fairly regular basis after he goes into the Hall of Fame.
