Last Monday, the Golden Truth [Goldust and R-Truth] asked Kurt Angle for a Tag Team Title shot, which was a request that was denied by the Raw general manager. However, he did put them in a five-team, number one contenders match, which will take place on tonight’s Raw.

Angle’s reason for denying the Golden Truth a shot at the Raw Tag Titles was simple: their win-loss record. Of course, we’ve been taught in recent years that wins and losses don’t matter in WWE, so it’s a little weird that they matter now. But, ironically, if wins and losses mattered in this situation, which they clearly do because the team’s win-loss record was brought up, the Golden Truth would be the number one contenders for the Tag Team Championships.

On Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that the Golden Truth’s win-loss record for this year, including house shows, is 36-0. So, if wins and losses do, in fact, matter, then the team clearly deserves a shot at the title. But, we all know that WWE’s thing is, “if it didn’t happen on television, it didn’t happen at all.”
