In recent years, we’ve seen several WWE stars like Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, The Rock, and others leave the company, and do just fine on their own. The latest example of this is Batista, who has successfully transitioned to being a full-time actor.
Since leaving WWE over two years ago, Batista has said that he’d love to come back and have one more match against his mentor, Triple H. But, as of right now, his passion is acting, and he’s not interested in returning to ring.
Now, according to Cageside Seats, Batista is “done with WWE,” and he’s not even planning to return to the company for a retirement match at a future WrestleMania. As of this writing, we don’t really know what The Animal isn’t interested in returning to the ring — he’s still in great shape despite the fact that he’s nearing 50 years old. But, it looks like he’s not interested in an in-ring return.
His return in 2014 didn’t go as planned, mostly because of the meteoric rise of Daniel Bryan. But, he told Chris Jericho during his appearance on his podcast, Talk is Jericho, that he knew that his babyface return was going to flop before he even came back, and that he wanted to return as a heel. But, he ultimately gave into what WWE wanted, and he returned as a babyface.

The original plan was for him to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Randy Orton at WrestleMania 30, but the fans reacted so poorly to that plan, and they were forced to insert Daniel Bryan into the show’s main event. Long story short, Batista didn’t walk out of the event with the title, and Bryan did.
