The “Money in the Bank” Ladder match is going to be a huge moment for one superstar in a few weeks. It’s always a big moment, but the talent pool in the match is full of great superstars that are on the cusp of the next level.
However, there was a seventh spot that was still available that led to quite a few possibilities for one more star to come into the match and potentially make history. Apparently, that spot is no longer available in the match.
According to WrestlingNewsSource.com, WWE has made the decision to have the six participants that already qualified for the match. As of this writing, there will not be a seventh participant.
The six men in the match are Alberto Del Rio, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn. What’s great about the match is all six men have the opportunity to win the briefcase.
It was recently reported that Kevin Owens is the frontrunner to win the match and the briefcase. The seventh spot that has been removed was likely going to be for Neville, Bray Wyatt, or even Randy Orton.
If WWE has already made the decision for Kevin Owens or one of the other five men in the match to win no matter what, then it makes sense to keep a superstar returning from injury out of the match.
Who do you think should win the Money in the Bank contract this year?
