Recent rumors about The Wyatt Family have been claiming that Vince McMahon is extremely high on “The Black Sheep” of the group Braun Strowman.
For awhile there, Strowman seemed to be the front-runner to face The Undertaker before those rumors were squashed due to backlash, but the push for Strowman didn’t seem to stop there.
The Wrestling Observer is now reporting that there have been some serious thoughts within WWE about halting his huge push completely and having him continue as the enforcer of The Wyatt Family.
A few weeks ago, Dean Ambrose fought Strowman in the main event of Monday Night Raw in Philadelphia, but the reaction to the match wasn’t positive for Strowman at all.
Ever since The Undertaker rumors stopped, Strowman seemed like a lock to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on Sunday night, but that is no longer the case.
He could still win, but the plan in place was for Braun Strowman to become a monster heel over 2016, win the Battle Royal at Wrestlemania, and be an unstoppable force until he could have a big money match with Brock Lesnar at this year’s Summerslam.
Now, it seems that all of WWE’s ideas to push him are up in the air and this weekend is going to be an indication of what WWE has planned for Braun Strowman going forward.
