It’s been rumored for a few weeks now that The Black Sheep of The Wyatt Family is going to have a major role Wrestlemania 32 this April in Dallas, Texas. WWE is rumored to be strongly considering putting him in a match with either Brock Lesnar or The Undertaker to make his Wrestlemania debut.
According to several sources, including PWInsider.com, WWE officials, and Vince McMahon are very high on Braun Strowman to become a major player for WWE in 2016.
Apparently, McMahon sees Strowman as one of his “personal projects” and would like to see him as a main event player very quickly. It’s being said that his booking comes directly from Vince himself, and he is personally editing how Braun is presented, how he works, his opponents, and everything else in between.
There has been some backlash against Strowman getting a top position in the company because many believe he is too green and too young in the business to be “pushed to the moon” so quickly.
It is also being reported by multiple sources, that Strowman’s in ring work has been specifically toned down on WWE television. Behind the scenes, he is said to be improving and can do a lot more in the ring than what we’ve seen from him so far on television. It’s possible his “skills” are being saved for a stage like Wrestlemania.
It’s possible that WWE could pull the trigger on Bray Wyatt vs. Brock Lesnar for Mania and The Undertaker may pass on a match with Braun Strowman. If so, WWE already has backup plans in place for Strowman to win this year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal or be featured in other matches.
The early word is if all goes well with Braun, we could see Lesnar vs. Strowman at this year’s Summerslam later this year.
