Back in November, AJ Styles captured the WWE Championship from Jinder Mahal on an episode of SmackDown Live. Since then, he’s been the top babyface for the brand. Styles has been nothing but an excellent champion and now he’s being rewarded for his work.
It’s been reported that The Phenomenal One will be on the cover of WWE 2K19. It’s the embodiment of the WWE Superstar he’s become over the past three years. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Styles being on the cover of WWE 2K19 is the reason why he is still holding the WWE Championship on SmackDown and why he has not lost it yet.

During the feud with Shinsuke Nakamura, a lot of people were expecting a title change during the rivalry. However, WWE officials are going to promote Styles heavily for the rest of the year, especially in October when the video game is released. On paper, fans shouldn’t expect The Phenomenal One to drop the WWE Championship anytime soon.
It’s been rumored that Samoa Joe is the next challenger for the WWE Title. It’s unlikely the company will take the championship off Styles. As a result, AJ’s title reign will pass by the one year mark and he could hold the WWE Championship all the way into New York next year for WrestleMania 35. The point is that Styles’ run is only just beginning.
It’s insane to remember a time where AJ wrestling inside a WWE ring was a fantasy. A lot of people were doubtful he would be this successful once he made his debut for the company. His success not only shows The Phenomenal One’s talent, but it shows that he is in an elite category of performers who have ever worked in this industry.
