Three hours is a lot of content for one show. Wrestling fans have always been understanding as far as PPVs are concerned because those usually give you the best matches.
However, Monday Night Raw has been doing a three-hour show for almost four years now. The WWE Universe has gotten used to it, but it doesn’t change the fact that three hours is a long time to watch wrestling.
There are a lot of things that need to be addressed before the brand split officially happens. The most important thing that must be done is to make Raw and SmackDown appear as equal as possible.
However, it doesn’t seem like that is going to be easy since Raw is still scheduled to go for three hours and a report from RingSideNews.com has revealed that there are no plans to eliminate an hour from Raw or to add an hour to SmackDown.
Simply put, Raw will remain three hours and SmackDown will remain two hours long, which is going to create a huge problem when it comes to making the latter seems as important.
It’s going to be interesting to see if this changes, or if the USA Network forces WWE to make some changes because if it’s about television ratings ultimately, SmackDown is going to need a very strong roster, but Raw has three hours to fill.
Do you think the brand split can work with Raw having three hours and SmackDown having two?
