There was a lot of speculation when Shane McMahon returned a few months ago about what his role would be on and more importantly, off WWE television.
On television, Shane had the feud with The Undertaker that culminated at Wrestlemania 32, and he’s settled into running Monday Night Raw with his sister Stephanie McMahon, which is sure to turn into his next feud sooner rather than later.
However, his role behind the scenes is still a mystery.
According to a report from DailyWrestlingNews.com, Vince McMahon made it clear that Shane’s role in the company is that of an on-air talent for the time being during the conference call for WWE’s first quarter.
As of this writing, Shane has no official title and is not in an executive role. However, Shane O’Mac is still backstage, and it’s believed that he has some input about what gets put on WWE television.
Recently, it is coming to light that Shane has some creative input into the top storylines. That doesn’t mean his opinion means more than anyone else’s. It just means that he is asked and is giving his opinion on the current product.
Shane has been very well-received backstage thus far, so that’s a very good sign. It’s been said that he’s learning some of the newer technologies the company has introduced while he was gone. For now, that seems to be the launching off point, and his role will either continue to grow and change as time goes on.
Do you think Shane O’Mac is doing well on WWE television so far?
