Following Wrestlemania 32, there is a lot of speculation about The Undertaker’s status. In recent years, we knew he’d be back for the grandest stage of them all in some capacity, but now it’s a question of “if” he’ll be back next year.
It was reported recently that Vince McMahon is giving The Deadman some space to recover from his match with Shane McMahon before selling him on his next match.
The problem is that Taker was apparently telling people after Wrestlemania that his match with Shane would be his last. He’s made that claim before, but the speculation increased when he pulled out of the European tour he was scheduled to appear on for a specific reason.
According to DailyWrestlingNews.com, the reason why The Undertaker decided not to go on the tour was due to the recent terrorist attacks in both France and Belgium.
After he had been pulled for several events, he was just scheduled for two shows. Either the “terrorism” angle was a valid excuse, or he just didn’t think showing up for those two shows was worth it after Wrestlemania.
There will always be a spot for The Deadman at Wrestlemania and in WWE whenever he wants to perform, but it’s undeniable that his appearances have a lot of financial benefits.
Therefore, he’s only going to be able to wrestle for so long before the money isn’t worth it anymore. Maybe Vince is right, and all he needs is some time to rest and figure out his next move.
Who do you think The Undertaker should feud with at next year’s Wrestlemania?
