Rumor: WWE Showing Interest In Lucha Underground’s Melissa Santos For Role With Alberto Del Rio

Today has been a strange news day for Alberto Del Rio. First, some images of him and Paige leaked on Twitter, and it’s being assumed that they’re dating.

Then, a rumor came to light that Alberto has some backstage heat with Triple H and is said to be very unhappy with his current role in WWE. Now, it seems that WWE is trying to fix that by giving him another personal ring announcer to spice up his character and maybe give him a new angle.

According to a report from Wrestlezone.com, the ring announcer for Lucha Underground Melissa Santos is getting some interest from WWE.

There could be some issues because it’s unclear what her contract status is with the promotion, but WWE already has an idea in place to make her the personal ring announcer for Alberto Del Rio if she is signed by the company.

The logic is Santos would provide a familiar angle for Del Rio while also giving it a new twist if Del Rio’s gimmick is repackaged on the WWE television.

It would be an adjustment to see Lucha Underground without Melissa Santos, but she could definitely be a big asset to WWE even if she took a regular announcer role with the company. It would be interesting to see how a dynamic with Alberto Del Rio would work, but it’s in the realm of possibility.
