After all that has happened to Roman Reigns over the past few months, there is a lot of speculation about his future now that the WWE Universal Championship is vacant once again.
On Raw, Finn Balor was forced to vacate the WWE Universal Championship and Reigns, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Big Cass will all be challenging to become the next holder of the title next week.
According to a report from CageSideSeats.com, Roman Reigns is the early frontrunner to become the new WWE Universal Champion next week on Raw, which means he’ll win the Fatal Four Way.
A lot of people are going to be upset if Reigns ends up winning the title because he’s supposed to be in the doghouse, but Finn Balor’s injury has obviously changed a lot of plans for Raw’s immediate future.
The more obvious winner would be Seth Rollins, but the feeling could be that is too predictable and there is still a lot of potential in Reigns vs. Rollins going forward on WWE programming.
The other issue is how Roman’s feud with Rusev will end prematurely when he seemed ready to become the new United States Champion, but that’s just another result of Balor’s injury and changed plans.
