Before his injury, Hideo Itami was going to be a major player in NXT. On NXT programming, he was set to be involved in a No. 1 Contender Triple Threat match at NXT Takeover Unstoppable.
That was a match he was most likely going to win and he would have moved onto Kevin Owens last summer, but the injury took that and an entire year of his career away.
There is no doubt that Hideo’s return to NXT will be a huge boost for the roster and create several great matches the NXT Universe has been waiting for, and he’ll have a starting off point.
The storyline is that Itami was attacked in the parking lot of the arena and that forced the injury. Hideo searching for the man who attacked him and cost him a year of his career could be a great story to tell.
Obviously, he has to return first, but his latest activity on social media has a lot of people talking and there is a lot of speculation about his return date.

There is some speculation that Hideo Itami could return or his return will be announced on June 8th at NXT Takeover: The End.
The speculation is that Samoa Joe will be revealed as his attacker because he debuted on the same night that Itami was “injured” at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable. Hideo Itami’s return is going to be a game changer for NXT.
