There have been a lot of rumors about Daniel Bryan’s negotiations with WWE regarding a new contract. It’s been said the two sides have been discussing some kind of a creative control clause and are disagreeing on the length of the deal. Since this could be Bryan’s last long-term contract in wrestling, it’s understandable why he’s been really stubborn.

Daniel Bryan recently did an interview with the Gorilla Position podcast answering a lot of questions about his life and his WWE future. One of the biggest topics he covered was his negotiations with WWE officials and he revealed he could be limiting his schedule to part-time instead of working a full-time. Bryan said the following during the interview:
“I’ve been talking to WWE about maybe doing a lighter schedule because when we first starting talking about this, when I sent that, when Vince [McMahon] told me to send the letter to Dr. Maroon, he said for me to say, ‘for a limited schedule’, like ‘revised concussion protocol for a limited schedule’, so then, they clear me and I’m just on everything! I was just like, ‘I wasn’t expecting this!’ Anywhere between 50 to 100 matches a year, to me, is ideal.”

On paper, you have to believe that a part-time schedule would be a lot better for Daniel Bryan than working full-time for only a few years. For starters, he also spent a lot of the interview talking about his family. A part-time schedule would allow him to be there for his family, but it would also allow Bryan to extend his wrestling career for much longer.
