Rumor: Rob Van Dam Discussing Possible WWE Comeback

Rob Van Dam hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since December 2014. He hasn’t wrestled inside a WWE ring in almost four years. Every so often, it’s rumored that RVD could be making a return to the company for another cup of coffee. However, a recent rumor has a lot of people talking and actually believing he could be returning in 2018.

Recently on Instagram, Katie Forbes, a pro wrestler who is also Rob’s girlfriend, posted the following picture that has the WWE Universe making some assumption about RVD:

Forbes specifically mentions a tour in New Jersey and New York. Obviously, the couple made a stop in Stamford, Connecticut at some point. Unfortunately, all we have to go on is speculation because the pair may have just taken a picture in front of the building, or they could have been visiting someone at WWE’s headquarters for fun. It’s plausible the company needed RVD for WWE Network content. It could also be for something bigger.

Hypothetically, if Rob Van Dam and WWE officials were discussing another run for him with the company, it would be interesting to see how they would use RVD on the WWE product. The WWE Universe would love to see the ECW legend step back into the ring with a new roster. Unfortunately, all we have to go on right now is the Instagram photo.

At 47 years old, it’s not out of the question for RVD to even return for a short run. WWE officials can always use some additional star power. Van Dam would be able to get back into the ring, and the WWE Universe would have a blast. For all we know, the two sides were discussing a WWE Hall of Fame induction. Hopefully, there’s more to this story down the line.
