After moving to Raw during the Superstar Shakeup, Baron Corbin has been waiting for his first storyline. On Monday night, The Lone Wolf informed Kurt Angle that Stephanie McMahon has appointed him as “Raw’s Constable.” It’s a creative idea, but some people are confused what that means for him moving forward and why he was given the role.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE officials wanted to freshen up the heel vs. babyface dynamic with Kurt Angle. Corbin’s role will be to begin a rivalry with Angle as an authority figure, which could eventually lead to a match between the two men. That could happen at Summerslam, but it depends on how Corbin performs in his new role.

The fact is The Lone Wolf has been treading water since losing Money in the Bank last year. He didn’t have a feud to sink his teeth into even after being moved to Raw. As a heel authority figure, he’s going to be able to generate heat against Kurt Angle and will most likely have a match with him down the line. That should do wonders for Corbin.
The Lone Wolf’s new role should help him get over in a unique way:
As a “constable,” it’s unclear how much authority he will have in comparison to a GM but it should be enough to make him a constant thorn in Kurt Angle’s side. Corbin will also add a new dynamic to Kurt’s tension with Stephanie and give him someone new to work with on Raw. Like most random WWE ideas, it could be great. It could also fail miserably.
