After being sent on “vacation” by Stephanie McMahon, Kurt Angle has been absent from WWE television for several weeks. Last week, The Olympic Hero made a surprise return to Monday Night Raw during Baron Corbin’s International Battle Royal. After surprising Corin, Angle won the match and earned a spot in the upcoming World Cup tournament.
The WWE Universe has spent the last week trying to figure out if Angle has returned to Raw for good, or if last week was just a set up for Crown Jewel. According to PWInsider, the plan is for Raw’s General Manager to return to WWE television to continue building the angle with The Lone Wolf for their rumored match at Survivor Series next month.

The expectation is WWE officials are planning a Survivor Series Elimination Match that will feature Team Corbin vs. Team Angle for control of Raw. Since the plan for Survivor Series isn’t going to be Raw vs. SmackDown again this year, WWE officials have another storyline in mind. This feud is also a great way to get Kurt back into the squared circle.
There’s been a lot of speculation about Kurt Angle wrestling more extensively down the line. Since his WWE return, he has not been given the chance to wrestle a singles match and work a feud on his own. WWE officials wanted to make sure he could handle such a program, but the expectation is something bigger should be coming for him next year.
The conflict with Baron Corbin has been great for him. Corbin has established himself in a new light as a strong heel. Like most feuds, the babyface will overcome. Angle will get the win over Corbin at Survivor Series, but there will be new opportunities for him to stretch his legs and sink his teeth into something greater before or at WrestleMania.
Should Kurt Angle wrestle more often?
