Punk was originally meant to have his debut in UFC before the end of 2015. However, an injury and extended training have pushed that back to at some point in 2016.
You can’t blame the guy for training and wanting to be ready for the daunting challenge he’s trying to overcome. There is a lot riding on his first UFC fight, but the hype surrounding that fight is starting to get stagnant, and his debut is starting to get serious criticism.
However, it is now being reported by MMAfighting.com that Dana White may have found CM Punk’s first opponent. His name is Mickey Gall.
White is said to be “interested” in the newcomer and Gall has immediately accepted and called out Punk in a post-fight interview. You can read the full interview right here. Below is what Gall had to say about Punk:
“I haven’t heard from Dana White. I’m hoping. I’m around.” I think they’re still trying to figure things out. Now I’m starting to get the buzz, and people are sending me these articles. My phone’s been blowing up with websites posting how I’m probably going to be his opponent. I only hope. I hope, man.”
