At Wrestlemania 32, Zack Ryder pulled off a miracle and won the seven-man ladder match and became the new Intercontinental Champion to the surprise of many in Dallas and around the world.

It was a great moment for Ryder, and a told a great inspiring story. However, that wasn’t always the plan. WWE was said to be on the fence about Ryder’s win and had other plans for the match originally.

Apparently, all the finishes for last night’s show were not finalized until roughly four or five o’clock on Sunday evening with only a few hours to prepare and rehearse until early on Sunday.

The original winner was said to be Kevin Owens, but WWE made the decision to give Ryder the title win in a feel good story, especially considering all midcard titles would have been retained if Owens had won.

An argument could be made for any of the other superstars in the match, but now we’re going to find out what WWE has in store for Ryder.

It’s possible that WWE just wanted to give Ryder the moment on the grandest stage of them all and Owens will reclaim the IC title sooner rather than later. You never know, WWE could have Owens win the title back as early as tonight and then WWE could kickstart Owens vs. Zayn as so many thought they would last night.

Do you want to see Zack Ryder have a long reign with the Intercontinental Championship?
