Last week, Neville suffered a broken ankle that will keep him out of action for the next two to three months and will force him to miss Wrestlemania 32 on April 3rd.
However, Zack Ryder of all people will benefit from his injury. It was announced last night that Ryder will be one of five other men that will challenge Kevin Owens for the IC title in a ladder match at Wrestlemania.
Not only is Ryder back on WWE television after being in NXT for months as one-half of The Hype Bros tag team with Mojo Rawley, but he’s suddenly found himself a spot at Mania 32 and a chance for the Intercontinental Championship.
Honestly, good for him. The trouble is that his fortune is the misfortune of another talented performer that hasn’t been on WWE television often since being called up and needed the Wrestlemania spot far more than Zack Ryder.
No offense to Ryder but his time to capitalize and become a massive WWE star is over. He’s been floating around on his success back in 2012, but it’s been over three years since then.
Someone like Tyler Breeze could use that spotlight with a “smarter” crowd that may give him a boost to get a push on WWE television after Wrestlemania 32.
Breeze’s “push” on the main roster has been tremendously disappointing, but there is still hope for him to turn it around. He’s just not going to be able to do that sitting in the back or performing on WWE “Superstars” or “Main Event.”
Ryder has been doing well on NXT with Mojo, let Tyler Breeze have a moment in the sun before he returns to the doghouse.
Do you think Tyler Breeze should have gotten the spot instead of Zack Ryder?
