Opinion: What’s Next For Finn Balor?

Obviously, the answer for that is the main roster. After tonight’s NXT Takeover: The End event, Finn Balor has nothing left to prove in NXT.

He’s the longest reigning NXT Champion in history. With Samoa Joe, he’s headlined three straight Takeover specials and had the biggest rivalry in NXT history. Now, he’s out of the title picture after losing to Joe. What’s next?

Like I said, the obvious answer is the main roster but is now really the best opportunity for Balor to transition to the main roster?

His ties to Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows are very well known. However, AJ Styles just formed a stable with them and is deadlocked in a feud with John Cena. Where does Balor fit into those plans?

Of course, Balor could debut on his own and slowly become a superstar and most likely debut the facepaint entrance at “Summerslam” in a few months.

It’s very unlikely that Finn Balor will debut in WWE until after “Money in the Bank” next weekend, but if WWE is going to build him up as a superstar, it’s important that his debut is a groundbreaking moment.
