Recently, we proposed the idea of prolonging the feud between AJ Styles and Chris Jericho and bringing in Dean Ambrose and the Intercontinental Championship to make a potentially great Triple Threat match at Wrestlemania 32.
However, that was before Kevin Owens reclaimed the IC title on this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw in the Fatal-Five way match.
Now, Dean Ambrose is most likely going to lose the match on Sunday and be put in a midcard feud. Meanwhile, the final match between AJ Styles and Chris Jericho is happening at “Fastlane”, but all four of those men are going to be left up in the air for Wrestlemania 32.
On paper, throwing all four men into a Fatal-Four way match on the grandest stage of them all sounds like a great idea, but I’ve already proposed that idea for the Divas Championship situation.
There is also the possibility of WWE setting up Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn for Wrestlemania, but WWE seems to be waiting for after that event to bring Zayn to the main roster full-time.
Anyway, there may be a better idea on the table. WWE is undoubtedly going to book Styles over Jericho and Owens to retain at Wrestlemania. After that, they should consider having Styles challenge Owens on the grandest stage of them all at Wrestlemania.
Owens vs. Styles is something that was foreshadowed in the “Royal Rumble” match, but the way WWE is booking “Fastlane” this Sunday is begging for this matchup.
Owens is a top heel and Styles will be coming off a good feud with Y2J. That’s a great combo to get AJ Styles over as a face and potentially give him the IC title for most of 2016.
