Lucha Underground’s second season has been a lot of fun thus far. This week’s episode showed the depth of the promotion with a good six-man tag team match, interesting vignettes, new characters and having a great main event match.

The show has been approved for a third season. However, there have been some rumors that the promotion is actually in some trouble financially and that could threaten the future seasons of the promotion.

According to other sources, Lucha Underground has lost almost half of what TNA did after a decade in business. The rumors are claiming that the promotion will have to raise money or sign deals to acquire a fourth season of the show.

It’s being said that the company has enough for the third season television tapings that will take place through May. The plan in place is for LU to have all of the third season taped for next summer.

After so much struggle to get a second season, many thought it was a sign of things to come for the promotion after being approved for a third season so quickly.

However, Lucha Underground producer Eric Van Wagenen has responded to the rumors and openly denied them on Twitter. He posted the following:

So, who knows for sure what is going on backstage with Lucha Underground. Many of us who enjoy it every week simply want to keep watching it. Hopefully, the promotion is here to stay for years to come.
