It’s true. Rob Van Dam isn’t getting any younger, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be of great use to the WWE product once the brand extension becomes official.

There was a report earlier today that WWE is calling past WWE superstars to return to the company to assist with roster depth for the brand split. In my opinion, a perfect man for the job is someone like RVD.

He’s getting a little long in the tooth, but he’s still in very good shape for his age and would be a perfect veteran to come and help put over young talent.

On the Road to Wrestlemania, RVD did an interview revealing that WWE had spoken with him about a return, but it wasn’t in the cards for Wrestlemania. However, he did say the following:

“I appreciate the open door. I’ll try to keep that door open, and when there is a reason to go back, I’ll would probably go back.”

It’s important for there to be veterans on the roster that can put over other talent. WWE is about to stretch the roster as far as it can go, so bringing in men like RVD is a great idea to bring in names people remember and have one last ride for the past while they put over the future of WWE in two different brands.
