Ever since Mickie James’ return to WWE programming was announced, the WWE fans have been discussing the potential for her return, especially now that we know her new role on WWE programming was meant for Trish Stratus.

Asuka vs. James is going to be an amazing match, but the expectation is clearly about putting over the former as NXT Women’s Champion while NXT officials plan their next move for NXT’s Women’s division. However, James’ value doesn’t have to stop after that.

If Mickie James does well at NXT Takeover: Toronto, there is no reason she could keep putting over opponents on the main roster. The truth is there are too many big matches for James to wrestle, and an entirely new pool of talent for her to work with in WWE.

For example, SmackDown has the same issues NXT is dealing with when it comes to roster depth. Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella are going to have good matches eventually, but WWE is probably saving them for a big PPV. James vs. Lynch would be very cool.

There are multiple opponents for Mickie James to work with on Raw, including Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Nia Jax, Bayley, etc.

All those matches would be great, and it would be a shame for James to only have one match in WWE when there are countless others just waiting to be booked.
