The rumors have been claiming for awhile now that Kota Ibushi would be signing with WWE before the end of the “Cruiserweight Classic.” He’s expected to go very deep into the tournament, so time was on his side.
This week, he defeated Sean Maluta in the match of the night, and there is no question that they stole the show. It seems as if Ibushi and WWE have seen enough of each other to know what the future holds.
According to a report from WrestlingInc.com, Kota Ibushi has signed a contract with WWE to appear on NXT once the “Cruiserweight Classic” is over, which is going to help a lot after the WWE Draft and brand split.
Ibushi is a superstar, so adding his talent is going to be a great thing. He’s expected to go as deep as the finals of the “Cruiserweight Classic,” but there are many people saying he has a strong chance of winning.
If Ibushi wins the tournament, that could catapult him into a top star for NXT. That will launch him into feuds with fellow New Japan Pro Wrestling superstars like Hideo Itami & Shinsuke Nakamura.
Do you think Kota Ibushi will do well in NXT?
