Last night at “Fastlane”, Kevin Owens retained the Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler. Meanwhile, AJ Styles won the rubber match in the feud with Chris Jericho. Both men were victorious, but have the question of what’s next?
WWE could still move forward with Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn, but the momentum of Zayn’s appearance at the “Royal Rumble” may have worn off, but the potential for Owens vs. Styles is still very present. After “Fastlane”, Owens posted the following on Twitter:

WWE’s booking of the Intercontinental Championship has been very interesting over the past several months. Owens was having a good first reign before Dean Ambrose came back to win it from him at “TLC”, but he lost it a week ago and didn’t win at “Fastlane”.
Now, the IC title is back on Kevin Owens. You’ve got to wonder if that is because WWE wants to set up Owens vs. Styles for Wrestlemania because it’s face vs. heel and they have something else planned for Ambrose.
Owens “threatening” Styles to leave him alone even though the two haven’t interacted outside of the “Royal Rumble” match is a dead give away of what we’re getting tonight on Monday Night Raw.
They’ve worked together in the past; they’ll have a great heel and face dynamic, which is going to do a fantastic job of putting over Styles even more after the Jericho feud.
Owens vs. Styles really is best for business. The question now is if WWE wants to make AJ Styles the new Intercontinental Champion at Wrestlemania? That’s a big moment and will do wonders for raising the prestige of the title.
