At “Summerslam,” John Cena will go one on one with AJ Styles in a historic match to determine who the better man is between them once and for all.
However, there has been a rumor about John Cena missing SmackDown’s first exclusive PPV event “Backlash” in September. It’s now being revealed why he’ll miss that event and may be taking more time away from WWE.
According to a report from RingSideNews.com, John Cena’s reality series “American Grit” has been renewed by FOX for a second season, which is going to be filmed later this year.
Cena has already reduced his house show schedule and is working a much lighter schedule with WWE than he has in the past, but “American Grit” will most likely take him away from SmackDown and WWE for a few months.
When Cena filmed the first season, he was gone for roughly two months. Then, he returned for a short period only a suffer a serious shoulder injury that cost another five months of his WWE career.
If John Cena is going to start taking more and more time away from WWE, you have to wonder how his body is going to adjust to lifestyle change.
