At Crown Jewel, WWE will be holding the first-ever ‘World Cup Tournament.’ Eight men are being given the opportunity to become the first recipient of “WWE’s World Cup.” As of this writing, Randy Orton, John Cena, Kurt Angle, and Jeff Hardy have earned spots in the tournament. Another four names are still to be determined, but a winner may have already been chosen.
According to a new report from Sportskeeda, the current betting odds are claiming that John Cena is expected to win the tournament in Saudi Arabia. These odds could change over the coming weeks and as more participants are announced. However, John Cena is a believable choice for the victor since the Saudis are looking to push much older stars.

Other names listed are Rey Mysterio, Bobby Lashley, Finn Balor, and many others. The WWE Universe had another impression of the tournament when it was first announced by the company. The belief was it would serve as a platform for lesser-known wrestlers like the Mae Young Classic or Cruiserweight Classic have done over the past few years.
At the very least, the WWE Universe would like someone like Andrade “Cien” Almas or Finn Balor to elevate their stock in the company by winning WWE’s “World Cup.” That doesn’t seem to be what WWE officials have planned for the event. Some people will be disappointed, but it should carry the same weight as Braun Strowman winning the Greatest Royal Rumble. In Cena’s hands, the “World Cup” can become something bigger.
The truth is it’s too early to know for sure if Cena will remain the frontrunner heading into Saudi Arabia. The betting odds can always change and it’s likely they will, but the early word is for John Cena to have a major victory at Crown Jewel in a couple of weeks.
