Traditional “Survivor Series” Elimination Match took place on the preshow tonight. The first team was The Miz, Bo Dallas, Stardust and The Ascension. The second team was Neville, Titus O’Neil, The Dudley Boyz, and a surprise return from Goldust.

Very recently, there was a rumor that the veteran Goldust could make his in-ring return soon after he engaged in the following war of words with the current Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens:

Now that Kevin Owens has officially been eliminated from the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament, it’s time for him to go back to focusing on the IC title.

Goldust is a well-respected veteran and a former Intercontinental Champion. He’s an easy face for the WWE Universe to get behind and Owens is a natural heel that will compliment that perfectly.

Even if Goldust vs. Owens doesn’t come to fruition, the Rhodes Brothers are always going to be welcomed to pick up where they left off in their feud. Stardust recently took to Twitter to tease the possibility of a Cody Rhodes return.

With the news coming today that WWE may also be losing Cesaro, Goldust is a welcome veteran on the roster that can feud with almost anyone and bring a familiar face for WWE fans to cheer.
